Tasting Notes

Twenty percent of Viranel's 2015 Saint Chinian Tradition spent a year in oak (the rest stayed in tank for its élevage), so there's no obvious oak flavor in this blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Syrah, 10% Carignan and 10% Mourvèdre. Instead, it delivers raspberry and cherry fruit, the merest hints of thyme and rosemary and a touch of star anise. Drink this medium to full-bodied, supple wine on the fruit over the next few years.
