It’s hard to believe this beautiful wine is $15, and it’s just as hard to believe it’s made by carbonic maceration. Jose Luis Prada farms the vineyards surrounding the Palacio de Canedo with organic certification, the vines between 60 and 70 years old, their fruit creating a pure, succulent Bierzo that seems to glow red in the glass. The wine’s sweet scents of black cherries and beeswax are tightly framed by mineral-infused tannins, hinting at bitter chocolate. It feels saturated, fresh, cool and complete. Best Buy.
