Not scheduled to be bottled until June, the 2024 Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes shows a deep purple hue and offers a pure, classy perfume of blue fruits, spring flowers, crushed stone-like minerality, and pepper. It's beautifully balanced and medium to full-bodied, with a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel and a great finish. This barrel sample is aged 20 months in 228-liter oak barrels with 10% new oak, and Cornas excelled in 2024, which you see here.
