Tasting Notes
The 2016 Riesling Humphreys Vineyard is sourced from Seneca Lake. It comes in dry, with six grams per liter of residual sugar and 10.7% alcohol. This was showing beautifully even when seen just about two months after bottling. Dry and compelling, it has beautiful tension on the finish that grips the palate nicely, with fine concentration, too. Although it has plenty of perceptible acidity, it is not searing. There is a nice fruity edge, too. It will wake up more as time goes on. This seems to be on track to be a terrific Riesling, granting that it is a bit unevolved just now. It should age pretty well, too. There were 179 cases produced.
