The 2021 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is pleasantly earthy, with flowery underbrush, sous-bois, woodland herbs and crushed cherries. It's surprisingly juicy with mineral-infused wild berry fruits and crisp mineral tones. This tapers off long with cheek-pinching tension and an attractive sweet-and-sour sensation. There's a balanced rusticity here that may not be for everyone, but adds gobs of character.
