Typical to Hawke's Bay, this is a lusher, more tropical-fruited Savvy B than those found in the South Island. Winemaker—and expat American—Daniel Brennan's wines always have that handcrafted, lo-fi appeal of small-batch winemaking. This single-vineyard bottling is no different. Spiced pineapple and peach, honeyed oatmeal, and ginger march to a palate that's less concentrated than the nose implies, but with a lovely balance of textural weight and mouthwatering acidity that makes this a pleasant drop outside the typical Savvy B canon.
