Tasting Notes
90% Tinta del País, 10% others. A blend from three plots in different villages: El Abuelo, Miguelón and Matallana. Clayey limestone soils with sand. Very low yields around 1,500 kg/ha. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in wooden vats. Malolactic conversion in barrels, then aged 30 months in new French oak barrels. Tasted blind. Mature and showing the classic Ribera del Duero style. Remarkable oenological work. Rich chalky tannins well coated and balanced with black fruits such as plum. This fruit also gives a lingering sensation in the aftertaste. Cedar, tobacco, cigar box and elegant clean leather.
