Tasting Notes
The 2023 Ventoux Persia is mostly Syrah but includes 5% Mourvèdre, raised two thirds in foudre and one-third in new barrels. Coming all from silex soils, its deep purple hue is followed by a Saint Joseph-like nose of beautiful black and blue fruits, violets, bacon fat, and pepper. With medium to full-bodied richness, a bright, pure, elegant mouthfeel, and ripe tannins, it shows the supple yet pure and incredibly impressive style of the vintage.
