Since the creation of his estate in 1989, Jean-Marc Burgaud has been a sure bet for our guide. From his Burgundian apprenticeship, he has retained the work in plot-by-plot vintages, an aging process sometimes extended to two winters, or even the destemming adapted according to the year and the wine. His vinification always brings a velvety look to the Gamay, fixed by aging in barrels (very few new) adjusted according to each climate. In addition to his Morgons, he produces Régnié and Beaujolais-Villages on the granite soils of Lantignié. The style has opened up over time, without losing sight of the expression of the place.
The wines: it is worth noting the great success of the 2022s, mature wines without excess. The white is intended to be simple, easy and delicious. Lantignié demonstrates the good shape of the vintage, with a jovial but deep expression. Les Charmes denotes (a slightly vegetal touch), while remaining fine and delicate. Corcelette is particularly successful, all in relief and length. Grands Cras is still marked by the reduction, but lets the nuances of hot stones typical of its origin shine through. Côte du Py is still tight, but its high salinity announces a long aging. James is still cramped by its aging in wood, but we can already guess intense flavors of hot stones.
