Tasting Notes
The 2017 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata is a relatively delicate, understated wine at first, but the sheer richness of the vintage comes through just the same. Sweet cherries in liqueur, spice, menthol, mocha, licorice and leather develop with a bit of time in the glass. There is good depth and resonance, but overall, the Rocche looks like medium-term ager, as the fruit is likely to fade before the tannins soften.
