A tasty bottle of wine doesn’t always have to strain your wallet. There’s great value to be found around the world, with many wine regions producing quality pours at incredible bargains.
While some countries like Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa are already known for pumping out those delicious yet well-priced everyday wines, regions with a more premium vibe like California, Washington, Italy and France can dabble in value options as well. What’s the trick? Look for broad region-wide appellations instead of the geographically smaller, more focused ones. Instead of Napa Cab seek out a California AVA red. If Chianti Classico is a bit too pricy but you still want Sangiovese, look to reds labeled Toscana IGT.
From racy, herbal Sauvignon Blanc to plush Chardonnay and full-bodied reds, here are 13 good wines from around the world for the next time you want a delicious $10 bottle that gives immense pleasure for its low, low price.

Fairvalley 2018 Pinotage (Western Cape); Vivino. This wine starts off a bit reserved in character, though with time it reveals aromas of baked plum, cherry and blackberry coupled with licorice, tobacco leaf and light char, as well as a hint of pressed violet. It’s bold and flavorful on the palate, where the aromas carry straight through to the lingering finish, shaped by velvety tannins and lingering earthy spice tones. – Lauren Buzzeo
