∙ Pozzan Family acquires premium Estate Vineyard in Napa Valley
∙ Calistoga AVA Cabernet Sauvignon
∙ Fruit used in $125 single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley, California
Michael Pozzan Winery announces the purchase of the family’s new vineyard, Pozzan Estate Vineyard. The 9 year old hillside vineyard is comprised of premium Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the Calistoga AVA. The property, on Franz Valley School Road, is located 5 minutes from downtown Calistoga in the Napa Valley.
“Mary Ann and I have been searching for the perfect vineyard for a few years. The demand for Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards is at an all-time high, and we wanted to make sure we found one that would produce the best fruit possible. The quality of these grapes comes from the cooler temperature and breeze that is only found in a small pocket of Franz Valley School Rd., along with the exposure from the hillside setting. We are thrilled to have acquired such a unique property.” Michael Pozzan said. “With this comes such a feeling of accomplishment and excitement for the future of our family.”
Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown purchases the fruit to create a single vineyard Calistoga Cabernet under his label Rivers-Marie, retailing at $125. Michael Pozzan Winery continues to source Napa and Sonoma fruit to produce its numerous wine labels: Michael Pozzan, Annabella, Marianna, Dante, Matthew Joseph, Sailor’s Grave, and Giapoza. The wines can be found throughout the US as well as in Europe and Asia.
