Tasting Notes
(blended with 11% petit verdot): Dark red-ruby. Dark berries, violet, menthol and bitter chocolate on the nose. Suave and pliant in the mouth, with a slightly musky coffee bean character to the dark fruit flavors. Nicely smooth 2011 cabernet with sweet, broad tannins and good length. Winemaker Nile Zacherle bottled the 2011 cabernets a few months early "to preserve intensity." He also did an abbreviated cold soak and a shorter, warmer fermentation.
