The 2011 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Stielle is superb. Rich, ample and expressive in the glass, the 2011 offers striking textural breadth and richness, yet never comes across as heavy or overdone. Dark red cherry, plum, spice, tobacco, menthol and licorice meld into the super-expressive, generous finish. The 2011 can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to a decade-plus. This is a tremendous showing.
