We asked actor Kyle MacLachlan — the owner and vintner of Pursued By Bear Wine — about the shaving soap, pens, and chickpea pizza he can’t live without.

I have a winery up in Walla Walla, Washington, the town so nice they named it twice. Walla Walla means many waters; the town is surrounded by rivers and there are a lot of underground springs and that kind of thing. It’s a great place to grow grapes because the climate is very dry on that side of the state. I’ve been doing it now for 15 years; it’s a really small production, but we’ve got a couple of holiday offers and you can also buy wines by the bottle. This 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is the most recent vintage. It’s a beautiful Bordeaux-blend Cabernet Merlot that’s very food friendly. It will work with any sort of steak or lamb dish, and even with a fatty king salmon with a soy glaze.
