A bigger, richer wine, it has a big nose of chocolatey dark currants, cured meats, licorice, violets, and spice. Full-bodied, concentrated, and opulent on the palate, it's a monster of a wine, with moderate acidity, an expansive texture, ripe, chewy tannins, and a big finish. It pushes on the ripeness scale yet holds it together, gaining freshness and purity with time in the glass. It should evolve nicely for another decade, but there's no need to delay gratification. Give it a decant if drinking any time soon.”
