“A nice choice for grilled porcini, the Giovanni Chiappini 2018 Bolgheri Rosso Felciaino is a blend of certified organic Cabernet Sauvignon (50%) with Merlot (40%) and a smaller part Sangiovese. This is a balanced expression that delivers nicely ripened fruit, not too heavy and not too light. This is the estate's entry-level red blend, but the care and balance of the winemaking is evident. Blackberry and maraschino cherry yield to smoked cedar and tilled earth. There is a touch of rosemary sprig on the close. Some 25,000 bottles were made, and you get great value.”
