Picolit 2015
“Deep, reddish-gold color. Honeyed nuances complement the noble rot-accented ripe tropical fruit, fresh citrus, yellow peach and fig aromas; very pure and penetrating nose, a light touch of volatile acidity adds freshness. Then very complex and precise in the mouth, with refreshing and clean flavors of ripe papaya, lemony mango, dried apricot, cinnamon, acacia honey and guava nectar. Closes extremely long, pure and vibrant with enticing sugar-acid balance (220 g/L r.s and 6,5 g/L total acidity). The grapes were 100% hit by botrytis cinerea and were selected via four passages through the vineyards, but only the grapes of two of those passages were used to make this wine. Aged in a mix of 112 liters French oak barrels and stainless steel this is a work of art. In fact, it’s one of the best Picolits I have had in a long time.”
