“I also tasted the 2013 Josep Coca Brut Nature Magnum, as larger bottles have a different dynamic for sparkling wines refermented in bottle. This was kept with the lees for 119 months. The level of energy and bubbles in the wine when I poured it was surprising, and the glass got filled with abundant froth. The nose is very complex, characterful and different, with a savory, almost salty twist, reminiscent of meat broth, exotic spices and herbs. The palate is compact, seamless and balanced, with abundant bubbles, still lively and bright with years ahead of it. 662 bottles produced. The price is for a magnum.”
