“This is the second vintage of the Testify Chardonnay. Having gone big on high solids and new oak in 2019, which led to a very reductive, stylistic interpretation of Chardonnay, Daniel Brennan has pulled back. This is a more subtle expression, focusing more on texture and restraint, and it's all the better for it. There's savory nougat-like character from French oak fermentation, a creamy lick from malo, and restrained nectarine fruit. A site within spitting distance of the waters of the Pacific delivers a flush of acidity that courses through the center of the wine, leaving the palate refreshed.”
