The iconic New Zealand aromatics draw you in with tart gooseberry and grapefruit. Grown in dry, windy cool-climate conditions, the acidity is striking, with notes of crisp lime “ice,” which melts across the palate. Tarragon and brushy notes get a hint of spice darting on the palate, but the overall texture (some weight from 3% of the wine fermented in old oak) is superb. For us, The Loop was the perpetual motion of sip and re-sip.
