Tasting Notes

The 2015 Etna Rosso N'Anticchia is autumnal in nature, perfumed and exotic, presenting a mix of dried citrus peel, clove, allspice and smoke followed by black cherries and candied ginger. It’s soft and fleshy on the palate, balanced by tart wild berries, hints of grapefruit and vibrant acidity. While it’s a bit extroverted in character, you have to admire its balance and spicy persona. This finishes slightly structured and long, resonating on dark fruits and inner florals. I’m usually not a huge fan of barrique in my Etna Rosso (10 months in this case), but the N'Anticchia comes across harmonious and highly enjoyable.
