Tasting Notes

The 2013 Coma Vella is a blend of Garnacha with 20% Cariñena and 10% Syrah from the Coma valley within the Mas d'en Gil property. It fermented in a combination of stainless steel and oak vats, and the wine matured in 225-, 1,500- and 3,000-liter French and Austrian oak barrels and vats for one year. It's very classical and serious, without any excess, quite balanced, subtle, earthy and spicy. The palate is medium-bodied with some dusty, fine-grained tannins and some rusticity that provides character. 35,618 bottles were filled in May 2015.
