Tasting Notes

The 2016 Codice is also all Tempranillo yet was aged six months in used French and American oak. It also comes from slightly older vines and higher elevation vineyards. Deep ruby-colored with deeper notes of black cherries, blackberries, earth, and ground herbs, it has medium-bodied richness, plenty of fruit, some old-school earthiness, and a good finish. It’s a good value for near-term drinking.
