Tasting Notes

The classic 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Domaine Chante-Perdrix is smoking good in 2016, offering tons of garrigue, seaweed, cracked pepper, and damp earth aromas and flavors. With a darker, earthier slant, medium to full body, a stacked mid-palate, and a great finish, drink it over the coming decade or so. The blend is 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre, and the balance Muscardin, all aged in a mix of foudre and smaller barrels.
