Tasting Notes
Full, bright medium ruby. Musky black raspberry, blackberry, bacon fat, hot rocks and olive tapenade on the nose, with plenty of sweet oak showing. A plush, fine-grained mouthful of black raspberry and smoked meat, offering noteworthy breadth and sweetness without heaviness. Finishes with slowly mounting dark berry and spice flavors and suave tannins. This wine shows considerably more varietal character than the 2014 version did. It's also very easy to drink, but does it have the structure, energy and grip for serious mid-term aging? (aged for 30 months in new 600-liter Taransaud puncheons)
