    Winery Overview

Tracing its roots in the picturesque Entre-Deux-Mers village of Targon to the 12th century, Chateau Toutigeac originally was an ecclesiastical wine estate run by the monks of Saint Gerard. In more recent times, it has been owned and managed by six generations of the Mallet/Mazeau family since 1928. The estate includes 42 hectares of vineyards in red and white on clay-limestone soils facing south, some parcels 50-90 years old. Farming practices are lutte raisonnee. Fermentation and elevage are done in temperature-controlled stainless steel and glass-lined tanks. The wines are fresh, bright and clean with lovely purity of fruit and a crisp, dry finish. Both the red and white Chateau Toutigeac are great values in petits chateaux Bordeaux.
