    Fattoria Nannì

Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico ‘Arsicci’

Italy, Marche, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC

    White

    Winery Overview

Fattoria Nannì is located in the beautiful countryside surrounding the city of Apiro in Le Marche. Perched at about 450 m. elevation, this Pre-Apennine territory is influenced by the cool air of the Apennines to the West and the temperate breeze from the Adriatic sea to the East, creating dynamic diurnal temperature shifts throughout the seasons. This stunning estate stretches over 19 hectares, with 8.5 under vine. Roberto Cantori, the man behind Fattoria Nannì, acquired the vineyards from the late Giovanni “Nannì” Piersigilli who was a pioneer of the appellation Castelli de Jesi since the 1960’s. Roberto named the estate after him and his legacy. The vineyards are worked organically, in harmony with the lush surrounding nature. The favorable climate and the suitable soil, mainly carbon-rich calcareous soils, help his grapes to reach full phenolic maturity with remarkable freshness. Roberto attributes the harmonious balance of his wines to this unique territory and the authenticity of the Verdicchio grape itself.

Arsicci is straw-colored with light green highlights, allowing the terroir to express itself with its living matter made of layers of clay and limestone interspersed with white veins of calcium, strolling, among wild plums and mulberry fruits and, near the vines, patches of spearmint and pimpinella to complex your taste perceptions.
