    Bourgogne Rouge

    France, Burgundy, Burgundy

    Red

    Winery Overview

A family-run enterprise since 1832, Labouré-Roi is today part of the leading wine merchants of Burgundy. Nearly 80% of its production is exported to more than 30 countries. Labouré-Roi’s reputation has gained international recognition thanks in part to its successful presence on numerous airlines and cruise ships. Labouré-Roi’s wines are regularly selected during blind tastings for inflight service on prestigious airlines, to the great delight of their passengers. Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Maison Labouré-Roi has at its disposal, for its team of oenologists, some very advanced technical equipment. Its cellars can house more than thirteen hundred barrels and allow for the wines to age in optimal conditions. In order to select and offer the best quality wines, Labouré-Roi works in partnership with various other winemakers. As a part of its commitment to the environment, Labouré-Roi participates, in partnership with Planète Urgence, in the program called A million trees which is backed by the United Nations. This program, launched by Wangari Manthai, Nobel Peace Prize recipient and founder of the Greenbelt Movement, follows the objectives of Kyoto in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

    Terroir

Varied terroirs with limestone hillsides, sometimes chalky or Kimmeridgian in the North, with the marl and limestone of the Côte d’Or and the clay with hints of granite from the Saône and Loire.

    Viticulture

All the vineyards we are sourcing our grapes from have strict specifications that are followed by both the growers and our winemaking team.
The most used practice in the vineyards is lute raisonnée, with grown grass between the rows and limited use of treatments.

    Vinification

Traditional vinification; destemming of the full harvest, cold maceration, skin contact for 15 days in stainless steel tanks, full malolactic fermentation.

    Aging

Ageing of 8 months in neutral oak casks, then in Stainless steel tanks until bottling
