Domaines Francis Abecassis is a family-owned Cognac producer in the Petit Champagne subregion of Charentais. Cognac is the town within Charentais which the famous brandy is named after. Petite Champagne is considered one of the finest sub-districts within Charentais, and it is one of the closest to the town of Cognac. The soils in Petite Champagne are about 85 million years old and are made up of millions of seashells that were ground up and compacted into chalk and limestone over time. Petit Champagne Cognac is made mostly from Ugnic Blanc, and Reviseur Cognac is made from 100% of the variety. Domaines Francis Abecassis grows and harvests the Ugni Blanc, makes the wine, distills the wine into spirit and barrel ages the spirit in French Limonsin oak barrels. They create the Cognac, bottle it and bring it to market under their own ‘Single Estate’ label of Reviseur. They are a true field to glass producer.
