    Winery Overview

A family owned estate, Château Larquey is currently owned and operated by the 5th generation, Monsieur & Madame Rochet and their 3 children. The estate is located near the town of La Réole, which is situated approximately 61 km southeast of the city of Bordeaux on the right bank of the Garonne River. This particular area benefits from a mild climate but also dominant winds, which provide optimal air circulation throughout the region’s vineyards.

Primarily mechanical; manual for select parcels.

    Vinification

Mechanical harvest, with manual sorting at the winery. Cold maceration in vats in order to obtain the best tannins, making for a rounder wine. Over the next month, the alcoholic fermentation takes place, followed by the malolactic fermentation which eliminates any sourness. In April, the wine is transferred to stainless steel vats.
