Winery Overview
See Saw wines hail from the prestigious food and wine region of Orange, New South Wales, Australia and are a beautiful expression of Orange’s pure mountainous cool climate. To be classified in the ‘Orange’ appellation, grapes must be grown 600 meters above sea level and higher. See Saw wines have three vineyards with varying altitudes of 650m to 900m above sea level, and owners Pip and Justin Jarrett have been making wine here for over 25 years. The team at See Saw believe sustainability is about more than just growing organic grapes. Their motto is, “We don't inherit the earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our children.” Since purchasing the first property in 1991, they have planted over 1,000 trees, shrubs and native flora. Sheep graze throughout the vineyard to assist in under vine plant control, reducing the need for slashing. In turn this reduces CO2 emissions, increases carbon and improves soil health through the introduction of different bacteria and fungi from the sheep droppings. On every farm there is a 10kW solar cell system; all other electricity is purchased through a certified renewable energy provider, ensuring zero carbon from electricity demands. All their packaging is recyclable, and their wine cartons are made from approximately 80% recycled board. They are always investigating more sustainable ways of packaging and are moving toward lighter weight bottles to reduce carbon emissions from shipping. Regal carries three of their single varietal wines: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz. All fruit is estate grown, nurtured using sustainable and organic viticulture, followed by minimal intervention winemaking. As of 2019, all wines are Certified Organic and Vegan.
