    Brewery Overview

Southwest of Brussels, in the quiet Belgian town of Vlezenbeek, the Lindemans family has crafted lambics of exquisite taste & complexity for seven generations. Commercial brewing began in 1822. Lambic, or spontaneously fermented beers, are the beers of this region and are among the world’s rarest. Lambics come only from the Senne River valley, near Brussels - a region about 15 by 75 miles in size. The unusual, demanding, and unique flavors that come from multiple yeast strains are unmatched in the world of beer. Lambic is also unique in that the brewing process often takes several years, and lambics are a complex family of beers including dry aperitif beers, full-bodied dinner beers and fruity dessert beers. Lambic fruit beers are extremely popular. Artisanal lambic breweries such as Lindemans make their fruit beers by blending the lambic and fresh fruit or fresh fruit juice before bottling Kriek (cherry), Framboise (raspberry), Pêche (peach), and Pomme (apple). These fruit beers are delicious on their own but can also be mixed with spirits to make cocktails. Merchant du Vin introduced Lindemans lambics to the United States in 1979, making them the first lambics marketed in U. S. history. To this day, they are the bestselling brand in the category.
