Brewery Overview
In the shadow of the Alps, 15 miles from Munich, lies the 1200-year-old picturesque village of Aying (pronounced eye-ing). Ayinger Brewery and Ayinger Gasthaus Brewery Hotel restaurant were founded here. The restaurant has been one of Bavaria's most famous for more than 500 years, and the brewery has been owned and operated by the same family since 1878. Beer in Bavaria has always had an exceptionally high reputation. It is part of the Bavarian culture, in which values such as conviviality, community, honesty, reliability and solidarity with the homeland play a major role. The deep roots in the region, continuously deepened over generations, form the foundation of Ayinger Brewery. The Inselkammer family believes “it is our obligation to promote, maintain and nourish real beer culture.” In recent years, Ayinger has placed first in nearly every category entered in the World Beer Championships including gold medals from the European Beer Star, the Helsinki Beer Fest, the Stockholm Beer & Whiskey Festival, the Calagary Brewfest, and the Deutsche Landwirtschaftsgesellschaft (German Agricultural Society). Ratebeer.com rated Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock as the "Best Beer in Germany" based on thousands of consumer rankings. Part of the Merchant du Vin portfolio
