Tasting Note

Last of the 2016s, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vignobles de La Serrière is the same blend as all the cuvées here (80% Grenache and the rest Syrah and Mourvèdre) and comes from a mix of rolled stones and sandstone soils. It’s a rich, powerful wine that has loads of black cherry fruit, lavender, rose petal, and peppery herb aromas and flavors. With ripe tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and terrific complexity, it will drink nicely for 10-15 years.
